We arrived about 11 am local time, 6 am EST, at the hotel – Ayasofya Pansiyonlari, aka Ayasofya Pension. It’s in an important part of the city – the hotel consists of several houses, converted to hotel rooms, which back up to the wall of the Topkapi Palace; across the street is the back of the Ayasofya (or Hagia Sophia) Museum, which has been a church and a mosque and is now a museum.
