Cats have always been a big part of our lives. Luckily, both of our families are cat lovers, so we both grew up with several.

This is Bilbo Baggins, the first cat to share our lives with us. She was a wonderful companion, a perfect purring lap cat.

I was reading "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien when we adopted her, so I named her after the lead character. Hobbits are small, furry, intelligent creatures, too, so it seemed to fit.
