I just heard on our local NPR radio station that this is Banned Books Week. So read a banned book for the cause. Here are a few to choose from:
- I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
- Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
- The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
- Any Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowling
As my mom says, if you can read, you can never be bored. You never run out of reading material.

Jedgar hoover at one time was convinced that stienbeck was one of the most subversive people in the u.s.a. his library of his works in Salinas, California was pay for by the migrant workers and is still considered a persona non gratia by the anglo population even today, kind of like the stars & bars contraversay.
